All In One

I have needed to blog for a bit, however time constraints have not allowed. Therefore I will knock it out all in one. I had a short break before classes resumed on the 9th so I took the time to delve into some projects that I had waiting for me. First off I started and finished a ripple baby blanket.

This was the beginning to the left. I began this on Monday and finished it last night. I was pretty impressed with how sweet it really turned out. I plan on putting it on ebay.

Then I decided to dye some yarn using pink lemonade. d10186b80d5dd6ca394b95d4101e759e.jpg This acutally looks kind of good. Petty though I was making Pho...

Side note...I am allergic to lizards. They give me chills, panic attacks and nightmares. Dad brings home baby lizards to kill the spiders around the house. This is truly not an acceptable act. Eventually they are going to attack and kill me. I believe this...nobody can convince me otherwise. So the other night I stepped out on the deck for a moment to let the dogs out and when I came back in a lizard came in with me on the door. It's 3 o'clock in the morning, lizard is climbing on the wall, Petty is still at work, I want to pee my pants,  what the hhhhheeeellll do I do? I tracked the lizard for the next 45 minutes while on the phone with Petty begging him to hurry home and standing on a bar stool.

Sorry, but I don't understand why anyone cannot see my side of why these things are horrific. Anyway, Petty got home climbed on a chair and caught the slimy looking thing. To my surprise, the tail fell off and starting wiggling on the ground...GGGAAAHHHRRROOOSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He let it back outside to be with his "friends" and I was able to go to bed in peace.

Okay back to creativity....I made homemade bread...now anyone who knows me knows very well I screw up most baked items very well....This time I rocked..I made foccacia from a recipe I found on a vegan website. It came out unbelievably perfect.260a9dca156da30cf572ce7f11deebb2.jpg

it looks kind of like brains in this photo. I used whole wheat flour instead of white all purpose so that's the funky color. Anyway...this bread was so soft so tasty and I was super proud of myself. I got pretty confident and the next day tried to bake my mom a world of warcraft cake. She got a flower one instead. I don't know what my problem is with cakes. I also have gotten pretty good at making tofu dishes. I still cannot for the life of me figure out how to make tasty curry. I have tried EVERYTHING!!! Jars, recipes, packages of mix...whatever...it just does not taste the way it needs to. I guess that will be continued practice along wtih cakes.

Another side note...boys have been with the grandparents in Indiana all week. Missed them terribly, but the day they come home I end up at a doc in the box clinic with a severe ear infection that was almost a severe ear drum rupture...SAWEETTT!!! It was very painful, but I got a steriod shot in my booty and meds and am feeling a bit better. So now I can hear all the stories of their trip.
Last bit of info...I wanted to share a picture that Jordan drew at school.
It's suppose to be a self-portrait.

Okay so I think I have covered most everything. If I left out anything I can always post manana!!!

Aberration

Just when you think things are mundane someone comes along with kicker. My younger brothers Aaron and Joey and my sis-n-law decided to pack up and relocate themselves and my bros band to Brooklyn. WOW this has been a shocker for sure. I think I may even be jealous about all of this. I have always wanted to pack up and move away, but never had the nerve. I am definately sad beyond words that they all moved, but it was a choice that had I been subjected to would have made the same one. At least we have computers and cell phones to keep in touch. My family moved to Texas from Indiana when I was 4 and communication was pretty much sparatic due to the cost of long distance calls and travel. Well, on to other news....I finished my first back to school semester and I officially am not working anymore. I start a new semester soon so I am pretty stoked to get started again. I am still not eating meat. I guess I would be considered a full vegetarian by now. It has been awesome. I have had to think so much about what I am going to eat daily that I make wiser choices across the board. I am down about 13lbs since March. Petty is still trucking along right with me on my meatless journey.

Knitting is going well...and i say well as in I don't have words to describe the pickles I have been getting myself in. I for the life of me cannot pick up dropped stitches. I am working on a sock and am to the heel flap...going top down....dropped a stitch and just put down my needles. .....blahhhhh...so I started ripping out an afghan that I made 5 times to big and started on a new ripple afghan. I also need to finish my mom's scarf. So maybe when that is all done I will go back to the sock and see if I can fix it. It is such a pretty sock too....I am even excited about making the second one....At least with crochet when I mess up I can easily fix.  4dad64534b5a6af2c37d6eedfca7bc6f.jpg

I tried to destash some of my yarn, but I figure I have a few days before school starts....maybe I can mess some more projects up lol!!
